The planning application for our new pavilion at Butterfield Playing Fields has been submitted and is now live on the St Albans City & District Council planning portal for consultation.  More information about our application can be found on the planning portal by searching for application reference 5/2020/2485 or by clicking on

To help us get planning we now need as many of our members and local residents as possible to submit expressions of support to the St Albans planning department. If you would like to support us please do this by clicking on the “Comment on this application” box at the bottom of the page for our application (using the above link) or writing a letter to the St Albans Planning Department quoting the application reference 5/2020/2485. Please provide a summary of why you think the new pavilion would be of value to Wheathampstead Wanderers and/ or the Wheathampstead community. The closing date for consultation and submitting any expressions of support is 26 December 2020.

The impact of Covid-19 on the return to football this season has been exceptional but we are committed as a Club to making our playing and training environments as safe as possible. We are fully adhering to the FA guidelines and need you as parents and spectators to help our coaches and volunteers to protect not just the players but also each other. These two documents set out guidance for both coaches and spectators on match days and at training so please take the time to read them.

Congratulations to our U10 Cougars who, on the 11th October, beat Welwyn Pegasus Azures 1-0 to win last season's postponed HDL Cup Final. Well done to all the players and their very proud coaches Jonald Vos and Jim Rudd!

Keep up to date with all the latest news from the Club by reading our October newsletter where we have an update on the exciting plans for our new clubhouse.

19th JUNE 2021

12pm - 6pm

19th JUNE 2021    12pm - 6pm

Presentation Day is our main social event of the year. Every child from U6 upwards receives a medal for the season, and from U8 upwards there are individual awards too. Each year we aim to make it a fun family occasion. Unfortunately our 2020 event had to be cancelled so we plan to make next year's Presentation Day bigger and better than ever! We will have a raffle with some excellent prizes to be won, outdoor fun and games including Zorb football, Nerf gun range, inflatable slide and human table football, a licenced bar, an ice cream van and hot food sellers. Somewhere in the middle of all that, there may even be some medals and trophies to give out! Please put this date in your diaries.

Our Orcas Girls Teams are looking for new players to join their Sunday evening training sessions. If you know any football mad Year 3 or Year 5 girls who would like to join this enthusiastic group then please email to book a taster session.

Training takes place at Marford Road on Sundays between 5-6pm. Waiting list priority will be given to parents who can volunteer to help.
