Wanderers Achieve 'Charter Standard Development Club' Status

posted Oct 24, 2014, 12:31 PM by Wheathampstead Wanderers

We are very pleased and proud to announce that the club has achieved FA Charter Standard Development Club Status!

This is the result of long term efforts from the Wanderers Committee, Andy Ellis in particular, and demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality Junior and Youth Football offering possible. It enables us to extend our offering further into the local community, to include Girls Football and Disability Football, and is central to delivering on our Club Development Plan. This includes improving facilities through projects such as the Marford Rd 3G Astroturf and the Clubhouse Project at Butterfield Rd.

FA Charter Standard Clubs all feature a trained Welfare Officer, CRB-checked volunteers, Emergency Aid-trained volunteers linked to each team, Respect programme sign-up, a Level One coach for each youth team, appropriate club administration in place and a volunteer co-ordinator.

FA Charter Standard Development Clubs must in addition have at least five teams, have a club development plan, a Level 2 head coach who has also completed the specialist youth coaching module, and club officials must attend two in-service development events per year.

Parents looking for a club for their child will find comfort when choosing an FA Charter Standard Club that there will be a positive environment in which to play football.

Thank You to all our players, parents and coaches for creating a fantastic environment for kids football that allows our club to move from strength to strength !
