A trip to Monks Walk school today to play against Welwyn Sapphires was the order of the day.
With Dylan and Dan away we were again down to bare bones however the boys were in good
spirits and confident that they could build on last weeks improved showing. The Sapphires are
new to us and we learnt that the had a narrow reverse the week before against Stevenage so
clearly they are a decent team. Kicking uphill but with the wind and after a period of jousting the
Sharks settled down and started to dominate the match with much pressure and plenty of attempts
on goal. However events were not going our way and a disallowed goal from a good finish from Oli
was soon followed by a penalty not being given for a blatant push and then a pass back being picked up
by the GK also going unpunished. And then the coup de gras a rare break and a goal from a fine finish from
 Welwyns best player. H-T 1-0
The half time team talk simply consisted of keep trying and your reward will come. And so it did but not
after a missed sitter from Josh who made amends soon after with a good finish following good work from
Calum. A second for Josh followed plus another brace for Calum. Cian , Kai, Charlie and Ben all came close
however the Sapphires broke out from time to time and Oli and George along with Alf were kept on their toes.
Final Score 4-1 which could have been a lot more but a good game played in the right spirit.
