U11 Sharks Vs St Albans City Youth

On a grey and dank November morning the Sharks entertained St Albans City Youth a team
that we have had many enjoyable yet unsucessful battles with in the past. Today, however, was different.
From the start the boys were not content with losing by the odd goal and raced into a three goal lead
with goals from Calum Oli and Cian as St Albans were stunned by the early onslaught from the Sharks
which they appeared to have no answer to and the tally should have been added to. However this excellence
was hard to keep up and a more end to end game evolved which resulted in a goal from our opponents
albeit with much help from ourselves. This stung the Sharks into action and much pressure resulted in many
chances although none were taken however surely a free kick anywhere else than in the penalty area would
have been awarded on a trip on Kai at the end of the half.
With the injustice of a non penalty spurring the boys on , the Sharks added a further three in the second half
with Kai Josh and Jack adding to the tally. St Albans threatened once or twice and Cian made a great goal line clearance however on chances created the Sharks really should have reached doubled figures today and taking
into account the quality of the opposition this was one of our best performances to date.
St Albans are our friends and we look to another battle soon and we know that they will be looking to set the
  record straight.
