The first match of the season saw the Sharks matched away to St Margaretsbury at the John Warner Sports Centre. With Alf,our GK , and George our CB away we were down to bare bones with Josh and Oli filling in at
the back as opposed to terrorising defences. Kicking uphill on a pitch that really could have done witha cut the boys started brightly and took a deserved lead when Dan finished with a good lob inside the St Mags area. Unfortunately
bad habits of laziness and ball watching enabled the opposition to get back into the match and a hoof over the top
allowed their player to run through and equalize. Although St Mags were marginally the better team during the first half, chances were at a premium, and we went into break at 1-1 confident that with the slope in our favour we could get an opening day victory. This was not the case as our laziness continued and we allowed St Mags to push us back which allowed them to take the lead . This stung the boys into action and eventually the gulf in class was apparent as we laid seige the St Mags goal and a foray into our half was a rare sight. We could not quite get that equalizer and to be fair we did not deserve it because of our bad attitude. Well played St Mags and good luck for the remainder of the season but we will be back starting from next week!.
