This morning, with a full squad to choose from, the Sharks entertained Wodson Park for the first time this season.
With the wind blowing a gale in our favour during the first half the Sharks started brightly and played the football we know they are capable of, mounting a series of attacks on the Wodson goal. A goal or goals would surely come as Cian Jack and Josh laid siege to the Wodson goal. Ollie and Jamie, in defence , dealt with any Wodson break and Harry in goal had very little to do other than try and stay warm. However, the only reward we had for a dominant first half was a goal from Cian and he was unlucky not to have had three or four. Wodsons goalkeeper was having a fantastic match and not only was he the last line in defence but his booming kick was generally the start of any Wodson attack. H-T 1-0 but there was a feeling of deja vue that we had not made our superiority count. And so it proved as Wodson , with the gale at their backs, came storming back. The Sharks passing game was no match for
Wodsons more direct style,in the conditions, and we conceded 3 second half goals due to being caught in possesion in or around our penalty area. Try as we might we could not be as fluid as we were in the first half. As in recent weeks shots on target/chances created the Sharks were the comfortable winners. However Wodson Park showed us, and proved, that if you dont score you cant win. Well played Wodson and to the referee Harry but we will be back!!
