It was good to be at the old Ground after what seemed ages away . We had the traditional windy conditions , a sticky pitch and a team with with a couple of 6 footers up against us ( no kidding !!)
Barnet - a very good footballing side have been beating teams this season with 9 and 10 men and having been soundly beaten at their place , we knew we were in for a game !!!
We stuck a 4141 out today with James just in front of the back 4 and George up top . The boys were superb and from the whistle you could see how up for it they were - Nic at the back kept the giant of a Number 12 quiet and the reat of the back 4 and midfield work so hard in closing down Barnet we did not give them any time .
George was a constant threat up front and deserved his goal through perseverence - maybe a slight deflection but his goal . He was unlucky not to add to it with a great shot against the bar . What made the performance even better was we were kicking into the wind . HT 1-0 . second half we made three changes but the boys were keeping their intensity up hitting Barnet on the breaks and always a threat going forward .
Barnet equalised , through their Number 12 , no surprise when he got free of his marker and slotted home . We survived one close call but then kept up the pressure and when their keeper was put under pressure by George he passed it straight out to G and he put the ball past him . We saw the game out pretty comfortably and this was a fantastic team performance - From Cameron up to George and all the squad everyone battled and also looked to play the football - a great performance against a good team
Well done to all and Man of the Match went to the Whole team !!
FT 2-1
