On a beautiful sunny morning the new MHRML begun for the Under 10 Sharks who were at home to Welwyn Pegasus Skys.  The boys started very brightly immediately attacking the Skys goal with some great interplay
however ,as all Shark supporters are aware, scoring goals is becoming an issue. The boys created many openings
but ,alas, a goal would not come. The Skys were always dangerous on the counter and following a corner and a defensive lapse the Skys took the lead against the run of play. The Sharks continued to press on and continued to be wasteful in front of goal and were further punished by 2 more Skys goals. H-T 0-3 despite having the lions share of possession and creating the most chances. Groundhogg day anyone?
The second half started with pressure from the Sharks and more wasteful finishing until up popped Ben with a good finish following great work from Kai. Then a few minutes later a contender for goal of the season from Cian
with a great controlled shot from well outside the penalty area.  2-3 and the Sharks are on a roll.
Next a quick break from Kai following a Skys corner saw a 3 v 2 in our favour however we lost the ball and it was
launched forward to a Skys player on his own outside our penalty area who made no mistake. Then the coup de gras a 5th for the Skys from a corner and a great one touch strikers finish from the Skys CF who was probably the difference between the sides. Whilst it is without doubt that the Sharks can play some great football and always look
to keep it on the floor and attempt to play through teams rather than hoof , goalscoring or the lack of goals will continue to see results like we saw today. The Skys CF showed us all how to do it today with some clinical finishing.
