A fantastic season which saw many of our players improving leaps and bounds. It was our first experience of organised, regular 5v5 tournaments which gave the boys a taste of what is to come in their football life with the elation of winning and disappointment of losing but mostly the squad just enjoyed it.

We saw Messi moments from Bobby and Yuvrahn, George head down steaming in, Harrison, Ben, Matty, John and Josh giving a midfield masterclass, Lawson, Finn, Ollie and Max R-S looking like the ‘invincibles’ defence of 2003/04, Flinn being Schmeichelesque, Luke, Liam, Giles and Andrew showing touches of brilliance, Max F and Connor showing football brains beyond their years, Sam and Joel stroking the ball around the park with elegant ease and a strikeforce of Owen and Kai to rival Keegan and Tosh. An important year all-in-all which has highlighted the speed at which players can develop. We would be halfway to funding the clubhouse if we could have collected the amount of pennies that have dropped this season! It has been greatly satisfying to see the team progress, not only with their skills but with team-spirit and camaraderie.

On a personal note it has been an absolute pleasure working with the boys and I wish them all the best for next season. One day they’ll be playing at Wembley...
