On a glorious Saturday morning the Sharks entertained Potters Bar at Butterfield Road.
With Joshua ill with the "Faulkner lurgy" a quick reshuffle saw Ben in goal and Alfie playing "upfront".
From the start the Sharks seemed determined to put the past weeks disappointments behind them
and played extremely well creating many chances that ,as in recent weeks, we failed to convert.
Cian Theo and Jack were bossing the midfield and causing problems for Potters Bar whilst Jamie
and Ollie were dilligent in dealing with the Crusaders 'keepers booming kick . Ben, in goal, dealt
with any rare Potters Bar attack and Alfie battled away  gamely in the strikers role. Charlie entered
the fray and made an immediate impact with some deft touches and close control which saw defenders
left for dead. Chances , as in recent weeks, came and went and the Sharks could not find a way through
due to good goalkeeping and erratic finishing.
The second half was much the same with the Sharks peppering the goal with shots but a breakthrough
would not come. Alfie , who was in goal now, had to sprint out of his area a couple of times to thwart
a couple of Crusaders breakaways. It seemed the goal would not come but then a piece of brilliance from Ollie,
in defence, saw a shimmy, a shuffle, a drop of the shoulder  and a break out of defence followed by a pinpoint
pass to Cian who passed it back inside to Theo and...whammo 1-0 !. Surely the flood gates will open ?.
But no, despite more pressure from the Sharks a ball given away centrally saw a good shot from a Crusaders
player nestle in the back of the net. The Sharks came roaring back and created many chances however the
Potters Bar keeper was in inspired form and a way through could not be found.Until.. a corner , a stray hand and a
PK to the Sharks . Up steps Jack ...blam... take that stantion!. Final whistle and a well deserved victory
but we really should have scored many many more!. Well played Potters Bar and a very well played to their
  goalkeeper!.
