Under 8 Sharks

THE SQUAD: George Nicol, George Cutler, Ryan O’Connor, Flynn Cairns, Corben Oriel, Ethan Bury, Jack Holloway, Ollie Lewis, Daniel Gill, William Mawhinney.

Coaches: Paul Nicol and Paul Cairns.

What a season, with lots of wins, lots of goals and a tight defence. A fantastic achievement by the boys and I hope everyone has great memories of this season. The match at Potters Bar sticks in my mind as a great performance.
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the boys and myself to thank the parents for turning up in all weathers and helping with the goals and general set up.

Back to the team, a great defence is the foundations on which you build a great team and being a former centre half myself I think the defence and goalkeeper have done amazingly well this year. The boys in the engine room, the midfield have also been superb, our passing at times has been a pleasure to watch and some of the tackling has been tenacious to say the least.

Up front we have been lively and deadly scoring in some games almost at will, again the passing and movement have developed beyond my wildest dreams.

So well done to the boys. Thank you to Paul C for helping and of course Caroline without her the whole thing would collapse!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this season and can’t wait for September to get started again.

Under 8 Tigers

THE SQUAD: Luke Kelly, Tom Etherton, Louis Jeavons, Sam Lea, Leon Lewis, Charlie Moore, Jacob Stanley, Zak Mohammed bhai, Sam Scott, Cameron Lewis, Gus Cox.

Coaches: Sid Stanley and Mike Kelly.
The Tigers have had a great year. We got a decent “haul of points” and had a lot of very exciting, close, games which kept the parents on their toes throughout. I think my “champagne” moment was the return fixture against Elite Feet who had given us a tough game at their place. A few weeks later, after a lot of hard work from the boys on the training pitch, we gave them a great match. That was really brilliant and a reflection of the great spirit, attitude and team work that all of the Tigers have demonstrated this year. All of the boys have improved their skills and in particular worked very hard in how to play in formation and as a team. Every single player has come on tremendously and that is reflected in the fun I see them having and the confidence they have as footballers both as individuals and as Tigers.
Well done all, thanks for your efforts and have a great summer. Thank you also to the parents for your encouragement and help on Saturday mornings.
Sid
